Prior to founding KissanAI, Dr. Desai was co-founder and a founding member of three successful startups in Silicon Valley, honing his technical expertise and entrepreneurial skills. Driven by his family’s deep roots in farming, Dr. Desai established KissanAI with the vision of empowering farmers, particularly in developing nations, with the power of AI. He recognized the disparities in access to information and technology within the agriculture sector, particularly the challenges posed by language barriers and literacy levels. This led him to create KissanAI, a vernacular AI CoPilot platform designed to provide voice-based assistance tailored to the needs of farmers facing these obstacles.
Dr. Desai’s pioneering work at KissanAI led to the development of Dhenu, the world’s first agriculture-specific Large Language Model (LLM).
